God’s People: The Lifeblood of the Four Corners Home for Children

From the earliest days of Four Corners Home for Children (FCHC), children have been the heartbeat of this ministry. The desire to care for children brought Jim and me to Farmington, New Mexico, in 1975, but we did not come alone. Family and friends promised to support us with their prayers and financial gifts, serving behind the scenes to enable us to fulfill the call we knew God placed on our hearts. Many of these friends continue their prayers and financial support for us and the work of Four Corners Home for Children.

If children are the heartbeat, our donors are the very lifeblood that keeps Four Corners Home for Children a dynamic ministry in the Four Corners region. Jim and I have had the privilege of meeting many of these faithful prayer warriors and donors as they visited our ministry campus. Taking a donor on a tour of the campus for the first time, allowing them to see what has been accomplished through their support, still gives me a thrill. To see the joy on the face of a child sponsor when meeting “their” child for the first time never gets old.

We have also had the privilege of speaking in churches and youth groups, sharing in mission

conferences, and visiting in homes – personally meeting those who provide lifeblood to the FCHC. It blesses me greatly to step into a donor’s home and see the face of one of our children on their refrigerator. I hear them say, “I pray for him/her every day,” makes me realize the ministry is so much greater than those who live and work here.

This lifeblood consists of hundreds of individuals who sponsor a child or family, respond to monthly letters, and follow God’s prompting to give financial support and spend time in prayer. If you do not already receive our monthly Prayer Link, I encourage you to email us at email@4ch4c.org and ask to receive this monthly guide for praying for FCHC. We need your prayers. If you do not already support us financially, ask the Lord if He would have you give in this way.

From all the staff and children, we sincerely thank our donors and friends who stand with us in providing hope, healing, and restoration to each person we have the privilege to serve. We thank God for you every time we remember you. In all our prayers for you, we always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel. (Philippians 1:3-4)
